Residency

You may be classified as a Non-Texan for tuition-paying purposes. A Non-Texan service member must pay the non-resident tuition rate unless you, qualify for a waiver under Texas statues.

• You are currently assigned to duty in Texas, and are employed with the Army, Army Reserve, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Navy, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard or Coast Guard Reserve. This also applies to spouses and children.
• You are currently living in Texas and sign a letter of intent to establish residency.
• You were honorably discharged from the military within the last 3 years after serving at least 90 days of Active Duty Service, and using GI Bill educational benefits.
• Your parent or spouse was honorably discharged from the military within the last 3 years after serving at least 90 days of Active Duty Service and has transferred GI Bill educational benefits to you.
